what are we taught about our connection to deer, plants, the wind?

what are we taught about the potential of our minds and bodies?

where do we put our attention daily?

what algorithms take our time, our attention?

project created as part of a 3-month residency based in sapporo tenjinyama art studio, japan - funded and supported by the sapporo agency for cultural affairs.

what does it take to be on the wavelength of an animal? to hear their message? are we not animals? is it habit that stops us from hearing nature?

the exhibit is designed to be an immersive experience for people and their senses.

the gallery space is scented with local fir forest oil, deer skull and antler are present for people to touch, the soundscape is recorded in local forests, lakes and features yezo deer call. the opening of the exhibition includes a guided meditation and performance for the audience.
